To make Orinda/Moraga Safer MOFD Must:

  1. Maintain current firefighter staffing levels and high quality medical services.
  2. Allocate more resources to FIRE PREVENTION vs. just fire suppression
  3. Reduce response times using technology and data analytics
  4. Reduce fire danger with hot spot mapping and fuel reduction
  5. Reduce $70mm Unfunded Pension Liability to make MOFD fiscally sustainable and reduce the taxpayers' burden to fund the shortfall

East Bay Times Editorial:

"Voters shouldn’t let union run Moraga Orinda fire board"

"Voters have a choice between advocates for paying down pension debt and union candidates trying to take control of district”

"We urge voters to stay the course, to elect three candidates who understand the need to put the Moraga Orinda Fire District on solid financial footing: Red Smith in Division 3, Nathan Bell in Division 1 and Lucy Talbot in Division 4."

Dan Borenstein, East Bay Times Editorial Board 9/11/18
